Always set parental controls for younger children's cell phones. Below are some links on how to set this up. Also most cell phone stores can also help you set this up if you ask. Be aware of what your children post and make sure they only have trusted friends and family they are talking to. Remember that posting pictures of places they like to visit is a way someone can find their location and interests. Check as often as you can to make sure their posts are safe and who is interacting with them.
Snapchat shares your exact location in real time to your contacts! You can change this in the settings, but if you are not aware and your child's phone has this on, others they talk to will know their location and habits. You can change this so that only your or trusted contacts you choose can see this. You can google how to do this or find step by step instructions on YouTube.
